If you are a WhatsApp user and you have a car with CarPlay , we have good news for you: the latest update of the popular instant messaging service has added support for the Apple car system.
Until now, access to WhatsApp while driving was possible using the application's integration with Siri, however, version 2.18.2 of WhatsApp will also allow us to receive messages.

After updating to the latest version of WhatsApp, the icon of the application will automatically appear in CarPlay, once we have connected our iPhone. This is what we can do with WhatsApp in CarPlay:
- Listen to unread messages: Siri will notify us every time we receive a new message, and you can read it to us aloud.
- Sending new messages: To send a message, the first thing we must do is specify the recipient, and then dictate the text we want to send. Once we have finished, Siri will read the message to confirm if it is ok, after which we can edit it, if we wish, or send it.
For its part, iMessages has had integration with CarPlay since Apple launched its system for vehicles, allowing its users to play audio messages, and Siri read text messages, as well as compose messages and send them with the help of Siri. The only difference with WhatsApp is that iMessages also allows browsing through a list of chat conversations.
