The App of Adjustments in iOS 11.3 beta 2 already shows the options that allow to deactivate the deliberate slowdowns that aim to prevent an iPhone with a degraded battery from suffering unexpected shutdowns.
Entering the section Battery → Battery Health we can see the total capacity of the battery that is installed. 100% is a battery without any problem, when it is new. This number will go down showing the maximum capacity that can be loaded, relative to the capacity it had when it was new. In this case, in the image we see 95% which means that the battery has already lost 5% of its original capacity. When a battery is degraded, it loses its load capacity compared to the one it had when it was new, but above all, it does not allow to deliver electrical power with the power and stability that it had before, causing those unexpected shutdowns of the system. Although Newer iPhone models better anticipate these requests for power spikes and that will make this problem less noticeable, it is very interesting to have this kind of information within the App of Adjustments, which will give us a good idea of whether we have to change, or not, a battery.
Apple considers a battery as definitely degraded when it loses more than 20% of its original load capacity, which means that if in this section we see that it puts 80% or less, we know that it is time to change the battery of our iPhone.
As soon as the battery has degraded enough, even before reaching that 80%, the slowdown of the system will come into play to prevent the iPhone from turning off unexpectedly. This option, if it does not seem right, can be deactivated in this same section. In this way, it is possible that from time to time your iPhone goes off without further ado, even if it has a charge, and you have to turn it on again. You will have that problem, but you will not have a slower iPhone . Surprisingly, this is what many of our readers prefer according to our own surveys .

We remind you that these options will only appear on the iPhone SE, 6, 6 Plus, 6S, 6S Plus, 7, and 7 Plus. The iPhone 8, 8 Plus or X , probably will never show this option. If you have a degraded battery throughout the year 2018, even if it has not reached 80% of total capacity , it can be changed at any Apple store for only 29 Euro dollars , although you can only make this change once at that special price .
