Apple patents a universal magnetic adapter

There are many patents that a company can reach record to over time. Whether with the idea of using these patents in future products and / or services, to protect their ideas from being stolen by other companies or perhaps - so that if another company uses them - to be paid for it.

Apple is a company that registers frequently patents of all kinds , but yesterday recorded a license that could be a big change for the future of the next users of apple products.

In a world which has grown so huge quantity of electronic devices that people have, it is logical that the amount of cables and chargers that we have also been increased.

If we add the fact that many of the devices are from different companies, we note that there are brands that use their own connectors , making diversification of these requires us to have connections all at home.

With this in mind, Apple has registered a patent that judging from the sketches, would change the type of connector on the device on the other thanks to a magnetic adapter , thereby allowing the device to change the receiver to connect any interface.

Apple expresses the problem of users in the description of the patent as follows:

The number and types of electronic devices available to consumers has increased tremendously in recent years, and this increase shows no sign of reduction ... As the number of interfaces has grown in recent years, so has the number of connectors together with electronic devices ... there are several negatives about this proliferation of connectors. The housings of these electronic devices can have openings for these receptors while strokes and interconnections on the plate or other support device are arranged to connect pin contacts or the receiver. Also, the number of receptors has a detrimental effect on the appearance of an electronic device. These factors can increase the cost and complexity of the device, making it less attractive in the market.

With this patent Apple intends to reduce the number of connectors having devices today to make life easier for the user to be able to use different connections in the same receptor, while making the most attractive devices not having many connections, allowing a "clean" design.

The latter reinforces the rumors of the demise of the 3.5 mm jack of future iPhones as apparently only incorporate the Lightning connector for charging both iPhone and output audio through a compatible headset. Maybe this patent see it implemented in future iPhone 7, but for the moment playing wait.
